Medeama SC coach, Yaw Preko has described their win over Kotoko as a “hurdle” they cleared in the 2020/21 Ghana premier league.
The Mauve and Yellow rallied from a goal down to beat Kotoko 2-1 at the Len Clay Stadium in match day 21.
Preko who alongside Yaw Acheampong replaced Samuel Boadu as head and assistant coaches said after their win over Kotoko.
“It’s a big win, like I said earlier on, it’s about taking your chances because we know Kotoko is a big club and we are here to compete and write our name.
“Unfortunately we didn’t start well, they scored early but we kept our composure then we went back to basics, we equalized.
“It’s all about game management and it went well for us.” Preko said.
“We are taking it game after game, this is a hurdle, we still have another hurdle that will be next week.
“We go back home, take some days off, start training and we programme ourselves for the next hurdle so we are taking it game after game.” Preko said.
Kotoko shot themselves into the lead after Imoro Ibrahim’s cross was headed in by Emmanuel Gyamfi on the 12th minute.
Medeama equalized after Prince Opoku Agyemang slotted home on the 30th minute after beating Kotoko central defender, Ismail Ganiu.
Richard Boadu’s 47th minute long range strike beat Razak Abalora in goal for Kotoko.
The win took Medeama top of the table with 36 points from 21 games.
Medeama have a date against Dwarfs on Sunday, May 2 for match day 22.
