Playing in European top flight football is a dream for every African footballer.
The Italian Serie A is one of the leagues that has offered a platform to some African players to showcase their talents.
Ghana midfielder, Sulley Muntari won the UEFA Champions League while at Inter Milan under Portuguese trainer, Jose Mourinho.
One Ghanaian who wants to take Italian football by storm is Emmanuel Gyasi.
The 27-year-old Italian born plays for Spezia which is struggling to beat the drop zone.
Gyasi, who made his Black Stars debut against South Africa in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers, wants his side to finish high at the end of the season.
“We kept the core of last year’s team and that helped us integrating the players who have arrived in the summer,” Gyasi told BBC Sports.
“Before I actually judge our performance, I’d rather wait and put the cherry on the cake. We did well so far but we have to top it with the right finish!
“We are a great group and we have a common goal,” Gyasi added.
“The club takes care of everything and we just need to concentrate on our job on the pitch.”
Spezia gained promotion into the top flight last season and have shown grit so far in the 34 week old Seria A.
They lie 16th on the league table with 34 points.
Giants, Inter Milan have already won the league for the first time in over a decade with four matches to end the season.
Inter have 82 points as against Atalanta, Juventus and AC Milan’s 69 in second, third and fourth respectively.
