Asante Kotoko head coach, Mariano Baretto has described the penalty awarded to Dreams FC as “stupid” despite admitting the decision was ok.
The Portuguese steered the Porcupine Warriors to a 3-1 win over the Still Believe Boys last Saturday at the Len Clay Stadium in the 2020/21 Ghana premier league.
Dreams FC bagged their opening goal from Agyenim Boateng’s penalty after Kotoko midfielder, Fabio Gama was adjudged to have handled a free kick sent in on the 38th minute.
Baretto described the penalty as “Stupid penalty but it’s penalty no doubt.”
“We feel too much problem, they are come here, they know our key points.
“In the first half we feel too much problem unfortunately we took a goal.
“Stupid penalty but it’s penalty no doubt.
“But we didn’t fall out, we didn’t give up, it was in the hard moment that we start to remember what happened with Medeama.
“But this is why we are working hard, to try to solve this problem.” Baretto said in a post match.
Kotoko remained top of the table after Medeama failed to beat Liberty Professionals at the Sogakope in other games.
The record league holders have 41 points from 23 matches with their next week 24 game against Dwarfs at the Len Clay Stadium on Thursday , May 13.
