In a space of two weeks, a number of coaches and players have registered their displeasure over some abysmal refereeing in the 2020/21 Ghana premier league.
Kotoko coach, Mariano Baretto once called on referees to protect players from harsh tackles.
Just this week, Dreams FC coach, Vladislav Viric and King Faisal trainer Kasim Gokyildiz joined the train to question poor officiating.
The latest to slam horrible refereeing is Bechem United coach, Kasim Mingle.
The Hunters played with a man down from the first half in their 2-1 week 23 defeat to Karela United at Anyinase.
Kasim Mingle in a post match press conference asserted that most Ghanaian referees lack the experience to handle Ghana premier league matches.
“The officiating is very very bad.
“The officials, they are inexperienced.
“They have not reached the standard to handle premier league matches.
“It’s only few of them who can handle.
“When they come and stand on the pitch they don’t know what they are doing.
“Second round of the game, the standard has….but they are causing the downfall of the second round.
“You go to centres you see officials, the ball goes here, he says here, we don’t play football like that.
“If football and a league will be very competitive, it depends on the match officials.” Kasim Mingle said.
Great Olympics captain, Gladson Awako admitted that they could win the league if officiating was good.
“There are still more games to be played because there are soo many games to be played and the league is very competitive,” he said in an interview.
“Olympics have had unfair officiating this season and if things go on fairly we can win the title. Most of the games we have lost away was due to bad officiating.” Awako said.
Bechem United are 7th on the league table with 33 points from 23 matches.
The Hunters welcome Hearts of Oak at the Bechem Park for match day 24.
