Asante Kotoko head coach, Mariano Baretto has jumped to the defence of his goalkeeper, Razak Abalora after their week 25 draw away to Liberty Professionals in Sogakope.
Abalora returned to his former home but this time in goal for Kotoko against the Scientific Soccer Lads on Sunday.
Abalora gifted Liberty their first goal after he spilled Evans Owusu’s long range shot into his net on the 36th minute.
The mistake left many Kotoko followers fuming and calling for the return of Felix Annan.
Coach Baretto however believes every player makes mistakes.
“Look when we lose, we lose together, so when we win, we win together.
“Abalora sometimes helps us so much so I never say it’s because this one or that one fail.
“Normally when we fail, the main responsibility is me.
“So all the players make mistakes, some players miss the goals, other players miss the pass.
“Some position is very hard because when you make one mistake, it is catastrophic to say.
“So there is no one responsible, the only one responsible when Kotoko don’t win is the coach.” Baretto said.
Kotoko pulled parity from a thundering Abdul Ganiu’s header in the 83rd minute.
The 1-1 draw regardless, retains Kotoko atop of the league on 45 points with rivals, Hearts of Oak following in second on 43 points.
