Asante Kotoko have extended the contract of winger, Emmanuel Gyamfi for one more season.
The Porcupine Warriors had wanted a three month’s extension after his contract expired but the representatives of the speedster turned the short deal down.
The 24-year-old will now stay with the two time African Champions until 2022.
Kotoko made the official announcement via their twitter handle.
Gyamfi, who is assistant captain, has enjoyed playing time under both former coach, Maxwell Konadu and now Mariano Baretto.
He missed out on the week 25 fixture where Kotoko held Liberty Professionals to a 1-1 draw at the Sogakope Park.
His contract extension is a good news for the Porcupine Warriors who lead the 2020/21 Ghana premier league with 45 points, two points better than rivals, Hearts of Oak in second.
Gyamfi has previously had stints with the defunct Wa All Stars and Shirak Gyumri of Armenia.
