Asante Kotoko left back, Ibrahim Imoro has urged referees to protect players since football puts food on their table.
Imoro, 21 , joined the Porcupine Warriors in the last two transfer windows from Thunder FC and instantly hit the ground running.
The former Bolga All Stars defender has been at the mercy of several horrible tackles in the 2020/21 Ghana premier league due to his output mostly on the left flank.
The undesirable tackles have prompted a member of the 2019 WAFU runner team to call on referees to protect players.
“So far I can say some of the referees are not being fare.
“Some tackles are there, they need to give them cards but they don’t give them cards.
“The tackle I had the last time, it was a straight red card but I didn’t they even gave the guy yellow card.
“So sometimes they should protect we the players.
“This is what we do to feed our family so if they hurt you and you go out and sit down, how will you get the support to feed our families?
“So they [referees] should always protect us.” Imoro Ibrahim told CITI tv.
Imoro Ibrahim has been key Kotoko’s 2020/21 Ghana premier league campaign.
Prior to joining Kotoko from Thunder FC in a 4-year deal, he had stints with the defunct Bolga All Stars.
His football journey has also taken him to Karela United FC.
He was a member the 2019 WAFU squad that placed second at the tournament in Senegal.
