The 2020/21 Ghana premier league has taken a descent with eight matches to end the season.
The interesting part of the competition is the revival of the nation’s two biggest clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
The two rivals have claimed the top two spots with 26 matches played.
With 46 points between them and Hearts atop of the league log on superior goal difference, head coach of Kotoko, Mariano Baretto believes it is still a long journey with 24 more points to pick.
“We have the same points with Hearts.
“It will be a long journey, we have eight matches.
“And we have to learn with what happens and try to prepare for the next match.” Baretto said after their 1-1 against WAFA.
The Porcupine Warriors wanted all three points against WAFA but the duel ended 1-1 with Ganiu’s 3rd minute opener cancelled by Justus Torsutse’s 83rd minute header at the Len Clay Stadium on match day 26.
Baretto has since left Ghana to his country Portugal and is expected back on 27th May 2021.
The short trip is to enable him renew his UEFA Pro coaching license.
Assistant Coach Pedro Manual will take charge of the team on interim basis according to reports.
