Elmina Sharks attacking forward, Benjamin Bernard Boateng has attributed his lack of goals in the 2020/21 league season to “incessant” injuries.
The lanky, yet skillful forward has not been in the best of shapes for Sharks who have equally experienced a general luck luster performance this season.
Boateng, who is yet to tally a double figure on the scorers chat, talks to Africa-Foot.com about his injury situation.
“When we started the season, I set a ten goal target but injuries have slowed me down.
Bernard Boateng scored in Sharks 1-1 draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park against Bechem United in match week 27.
The goal was his 5th of the season and he cannot hide his joy.
“I’m so happy for scoring my fifth goal of the season [against Bechem United in week 27]
“However, I want to score more.” Benjamin Bernard Boateng told Africa-Foot.com
The 21-year-old is however not happy with the season so far due to the incessant injuries.
“I will say this season has gone wrong for me let me say.
“When we started the season, I was rocked by injuries.
“So I’m not too happy with the season.” Boateng told Africa-Foot.com.
Boateng will miss a few games for Sharks due to card accumulation but is expected to return in match day 29.
”Mosquito” as he is called by football fans, scored seven goals in 13 games before COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the league last season.
This season, he has managed just five goals in 18 appearances.
