Asante Kotoko walked into the last 32 of the 2020/21 MTN FA Cup with a 2-0 win over second tier side, Bekwai Youth Football Academy on Wednesday.
The round 64 game went into the break after a barren first half at the Gyamfi Park.
Five minutes into the second half, the Porcupine Warriors shot their noses in front with Brazil import, Fabio Gama slotting home from the penalty spot.
Sixty minutes into the game, Emmanuel Keyekeh swept home a sweet free kick to put the game beyond BYFA.
Head coach of the home side, Abdul Rahman says his side were unsettled by the penalty.
“It wasn’t a bad game, we were beaten by a better side, that’s all I can I say.
“If we were better, we could have beaten them, they were better than us.
“It didn’t go well for us, somehow the players didn’t listen the full instruction.
“The penalty unsettled us and if you look at the boy’s demeanor, they were down.
“They were not expecting a goal at that particular time.
“And if you look the game, you will find out that, Kotoko did not score a goal through open play like that.
“They could not create chances, it was it was as a result of that free kick and the penalty.” Rahman Abdul said after their defeat.
