We are not worried about results of friendly games – Dede Ayew

Black Stars captain, Andre Dede Ayew has urged Ghanaians to remain calm despite failing to score against Morocco and Ivory Coast.

Ghana fell 1-0 to the Atlas Lions in their first international friendly in Rabat on Tuesday after a horrible Razak Abalora mistake gifted substitute, Jawad El Yamiq a free header.

The team returned home for their second game against Ivory Coast at the Cape Coast Stadium on Saturday, June 12.

The Black Stars once again failed in their bid to placate the fans with the game against the Elephants ending in a goalless draw.

Dede Ayew believes friendly games should not be the measuring rod.

“I think this [against Ivory Coast] was a different sort of game and it was a friendly coming up.

“We know what’s ahead of us, some of us have played a lot of qualification games and we know what’s ahead and we will be ready, we are not worried.

“We would have wanted to win the two games but we are not worried.” Dede Ayew said.

Ghana have World Cup qualifying assignment in September.

The Stars opened their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia.
