Former Ghana Youth international, Ishaku Konda has tipped Asante Kotoko over Hearts of Oak for the 2020/21 Ghana premier league title despite the neck-to-neck race for the gong.
The 21-year-old, who plies his trade with Estonian club, Paide FC, admits this season’s league has been tough for all the clubs.
He believes with the performance churned out by both teams, the Porcupine Warriors have a slight advantage over the Phobians to claim the title.
“I’ve played in Ghana Premier League for the past three years but this year’s league has been very competitive.
“If you want to win a league in Ghana, you need to avoid dropping points at home and try to win some points away especially in the second round,” Konda told OTEC FM.
Konda, who once played for the defunct Wa All Stars and the Ghana U-20 team the Black Satellites, has talked about the unpredictability of this season’s league.
“The league has been interesting, very competitive and difficult to predict, but for me, I think Kotoko can win the league.” He added.
Asante Kotoko and their rivals, Hearts of Oak share 53 points but the Phobians lead the table with superior goal difference.
Both clubs have gone seven games without a defeat but Hearts of Oak hold a good record in those seven.
The 20 time Ghana champions have six wins and a draw with Kotoko on four wins and three draws.
The two clubs will clash in the week 31 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on June 27.
Hearts of Oak clash with Legon Cities FC with Kotoko welcoming 3rd place Karela for their week 30 fixture respectively before the “Super Clash.”
