Legon Cities FC goalkeeper, Fatau Dauda has charged team mates to step up in performance if they must retain their premier league status.
The experienced keeper signed for the Royals as a free agent after ending his romance with Nigeria Professional Football League club, Enyimba.
Dauda has since made 12 appearances in the 2020/21 Ghana premier league season for Legon Cities who are not completely safe from relegation.
The “Lion” as he is known by football fans, wants an improved performance in order to keep the top flight status.
“I think as an experienced player in the league we need to step up our winning mentality, whether we are playing home or away, that’s one thing in football.
“In the Ghana league everything is possible, we have seen clubs gone away to win at venues nobody expected.
“So we can do it, so I think the individual winning mentality is not there.
“If we are able to get it together I think we can win games.” Fatau Dauda told Legon Cities TV.
Legon Cities FC currently lie 9th on the league with 38 points from 29 matches.
They have a tough week 30 game against Premier league leaders, Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, June 23.
Fatau Dauda has played locally for Okwawu United, AshantiGold twice and now Legon Cities FC.
The 36-year-old has had stints with Orlando Pirates of South Africa and Enyimba of Nigeria.
He was a member of Black Stars squad in the 2008 AFCON on home soil before taking the number one spot at the 2013 edition in South Africa where Ghana finished 4th after losing to Mali.
