Reports reaching Africa-foot.com indicate that, the Egypt government will not allow football fans into the stadium when Al Ahly host Tunisia club, Esperance in the CAF Champions League.
The close source told Adamu Muftawu of Africa-foot.com that, the government took the decision to guard against the spread of the deadly CORONA VIRUS.
The Egypt giant welcome Esperance to the 30,000 seater Al Salam Stadium on Saturday, June 26 for the second leg of the CAF Champions League semi finals.
Esperance go into the game with a 1-0 disadvantage from the Stade Olympique de Rades in Tunis on Saturday, June 19.
In the quarterfinals, Esperance defeated Algeria’s CR Belouizdad on shootout after a 2-2 aggregate draw.
AL Ahly on the other hand defeated South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns 3-1 on aggregate to set up the semifinals clash.
Esperance have four titles to their name, the latest being in 2018-19.
Al Ahly are the record CAF Champions League winners, having won it in 9 previous occasions. They are the current title holders.
