Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Mariano Baretto is still confident things can change with three games to end the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.
The record league holders fell 1-0 to their bitterest rivals, Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium in match day 31 on Sunday.
Daniel Afriyie Barnieh’s 66th minute stunner ensured the Porcupine Warriors returned to Kumasi without a point.
Baretto however believes there are nine points to pick and anything can happen.
“We make one mistake of the match, we take in the goal.
“We had a great chance with Okrah [Augustine] , easy, we didn’t make it.
“So if you don’t make the goals, you have to accept the results.
“Congratulations to Hearts but award for my players, they fought, they made everything but in the end we have to wait for the matches.
“It’s not finished, we have three matches, it’s nine points, of course it’s more difficult but let’s see what happens.” Baretto said.
Asante Kotoko trail Hearts of Oak by three points on 56 against 59 in second.
Kotoko have their last three games against King Faisal at home, a penultimate encounter against Bechem United away before finishing the season against Elmina Sharks.
