Head coach of Eleven Wonders, Ignatius Osei Mensah has diffused claims by a section of Great Olympics fans that, their week 32 victory over the “Dade Boys” is fixed.
The Techiman based club stunned the two times Ghana champions 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Abdul Ganiu Abass’ 85th minute goal separated the two sides at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A section of Great Olympics fans criticized their club for playing it soft to allow Wonders run away with all the three points.
Wonders coach, Ignatius Osei Mensah has however poured cold water on the fans’ claims.
“I don’t know how fixed games are played but if they [Olympics fans] don’t know, Olympics have never beaten me before as a coach.
“The second thing is that, this team is a team on the ascendancy.
“The reality on the ground is that, check all our away games, after we have played AshantiGold, you could see we are a team is developing gradually.
“For me I think it about decisions in terms officiating that has cost us in all our away matches.
“So it is not as it is a team that does not do well.
“People should get it, we got points at Kotoko, we got points at Aduana, we got points at AshantiGold so it should tell you the kind of team we are but that is football.” Ignatius Osei Mensah.
Eleven Wonders’ victory pushed them into 12th with 39 points from 32 games. They need at least two points from their last two games to escape relegation.
They have a tough home game against Medeama SC at 3:00pm on Sunday, July 11 at the Ohene Ameyaw Park.
