Andre Ayew believes that the love for the national team will return if they begin to churn out good results.

“If we want to do something we will need it [the support of the nation] but we can’t sit here and tell them that they have to believe that we are going to win or they should bet that we are going to win.

“But that feeling that they are behind us, that is something that is also something that we have to earn.

“I think we have started the right way by qualifying for the Africa Cup.

“By the time we get to January, we are going to Cameroon, the belief and the spirit and everything around will be higher than what it is and we can go there and really deliver for the nation.” Dede Ayew told Joy fm.

The Black Stars confirmed their 2021 AFCON qualification after a 1-1 draw against South Africa at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.

The stars made light work of São Tomé with a 3-1 score line to top Group C with 13 points.

Ghana has the AFCON four times in 1963, 1965, 1972 and the last being the 1982 edition.
