Hearts of Oak employed the service of Samuel Boadu after combing the market in search of a technical man to handle the team mid-way into the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

The 35-year-old was snapped up from Medeama SC after the departure of Serb, Kosta Papic left a void in the technical department.

The young tactician quickly settled down to life at the then 20 times Ghana champions after agreeing a 3-year deal.

Boadu went 13 games unbeaten in all competitions and in the process ending Hearts of Oak’s 11-year league title drought.

He has led the 2000 CAF Champions League winners to the top of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League log on 61 points with a final game against WAFA to spare at the Sogakope Park.

Boadu has given rave reviews about the club’s following and the top hierarchy.

“It’s like, there is something unique in the Hearts of Oak team.

“Because when I came they welcome me and supported me a lot especially the management and the supporters as well.

“They were always advising me, encouraging me, they told me that I can do it so I should push it up.” Samuel Boadu said.

The 21 Ghana Premier League title holders will fancy a double this season as they find themselves in the quarter finals of the MTN FA Cup of which they are record holders with 10 titles.

The league title glory means Hearts of Oak will play in the 2021/22 CAF Champions League which they won in 2000. They are CAF Super Cup holders from 2001 and the Confederation Cup in 2004.
