Discussions and suggestions have begun regarding Hearts of Oak strengthening the squad for next season’s CAF Champions League.
The Phobians clinched their 21st league title and the first in 11 years last Sunday after drawing 1-1 against Liberty Professionals at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The league has a game to wrap up with the Phobians set to represent Ghana in the 2021/22 CAF Champions League.
Big name players have been linked with the club as there is the need to augment the squad with experience to be able to compete favourably against top clubs on the continent.
One name that is on the lips of many club fans is Great Olympics captain, Gladson Awako who has a vast experience in continental football having played for Berekum Chelsea and TP Mazembe.
Hearts of Oak coach, Samuel Boadu however remains relaxed on signing big name and experienced players to reinforce for Africa.
“Sometimes we are made to believe that famous players are usually good, no, me I don’t think about that.
“What the player can do on the field at that moment, that is necessary for me.
“So I think I have a good team, they are very young, they listen to instructions, they understand my philosophy, so I think we are ok.” Samuel Boadu said.
The 2000 CAF Champions League winners sit top of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League table with 61 points, four better than rivals, Kotoko.
The 2001 CAF Super Cup and 2004 Confederation Cup holders will wrap up their league season with away game against WAFA at the Sogakope Park on Sunday, July 18.
