Legon Cities FC

Playing Premier League football is highly prestigious for footballers and coaches globally. However, when a club is battling to retain its top flight status, it leaves the entire team asking questions about what they did wrong.

The case of Ghana Premier League club, Legon Cities FC is a classical example.

The Royals are staring next season’s Division One football in face with just a game to close the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season.

Former Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu was roped in to save the club the drop but his first two games have ended in defeat.

With the club seated 14th on 39 points from 33 games, Konadu remains confident the club will play top flight football next season.

“We still have a last match to play against Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium.

“So we will do everything in our power to also go and win at home and be safe.

“We will escape relegation, Legon Cities will escape relegation.” Maxwell Konadu Africa-foot.com.

The Royals are currently embroiled in a protest case after the one filed against them by Elmina Sharks for fixing an unqualified player, Issaka Mohammed. They will be headed for second tier football next season, if the decision goes against them.

Legon Cities FC have recorded four defeats and a draw in their last five matches.

Legon Cities have a mountainous assignment as they need a win badly on Sunday, July 18 against Eleven Wonders to escape relegation.
