West Africa Football Academy defender, Youssifou Atte has opened up on what inspired him to help his club finish the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League on the high.
The Togolese right back scored the only goal that marred league leaders, Hearts of Oak’s coronation at the Sogakope Park on Saturday, July 17.
The 25-year-old’s second half free kick went past Benjamin Mensah in goal for the 21 times Ghana league champions.
Atte speaks of his inspiration to score against Hearts of Oak.
“I was inspired by the fact that I wanted to finish in third position [with WAFA] because I’m a foreign player.
“So I wanted to finish third for myself [as a player] and my teammates as well.” Youssifou Atte said.
WAFA finished the season in third with 56 points, above Medeama SC, Great Olympics, Karela United, Aduana Stars and AshantiGold.
