Ghana club, Liberty Professionals will play Division One football for the first time in 22-years following their relegation from the top flight.
The Scientific Soccer Lads needed a win on the final fixture of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League against another struggling side, King Faisal to retain their Premier League status.

The game at the Sogakope Park ended goalless with Liberty finishing in 17th on 40 points.
The Dansoman based club adopted the Sogakope Park after their venue, the Carl Reindorf Park was deemed unfit to host games due to club licensing issues.
They will now return to the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park for next season’s lower tier football.

Head coach of the side, Sellas Tetteh admits that they need to go back and re-strategize for next season’s Division One football.
“At the end of the league, we have to look at our strong points, our weaker points.
“By doing that, we might identify the kind of players in which positions we need.
“So really we have drawn again, now we are going back and we shall get some time and think about all those things.” Sellas Tetteh said.

Liberty Professionals joined Ebusua Dwarfs and Inter Allies as the relegated clubs from the 2020/21 season.
The club was formed in 1996 but earned their top flight promotion in the 2008 season.

The Dansoman based club made their first premier league appearance in 1999.
Liberty Professionals have made massive contribution to Ghana football with players like Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari, Kwadwo Asamoah, Asamoah Gyan, John Paintsil, Daniel Agyei, just to mention a few produced by the club.
