Hearts of Oak defender, Caleb Amankwah says they are bent on claiming a domestic double this season. The Phobians clinched their 21st and first ever league title in 11-years with 61 points, four better than rivals, Asante Kotoko.
The Phobians inched closer to claiming the MTN FA Cup after beating Elmina Sharks 1-0 at the Nduom Stadium to reach the semi finals.
A game that was stretched to the elastic limit, saw the full time end with no goals recorded between the 2020/21 Ghana league champions and the relegation survivors.
The 2000 CAF Champions League winners however left it late to claim the win after defender, Caleb Amankwah swept in a free kick on the 107 minutes.
Caleb Amankwah said the playing body has set sight on any trophy that comes its way.
“We [the players] have told ourselves that any trophy that comes our way, we shall win it.
“So it’s in our minds and we are very ready to win the MTN FA CUP in addition [to the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League].” Caleb Amankwah said.
The Phobians, who will represent Ghana at the 2021/22 CAF Champions League will play Medeama SC they beat lower tier club, Attram de Visser in the quarter finals.
The Raimbow club are 2001 CAF Super Cup and the 2004 CAF Confederation winners.
