Medeama SC failed to match the strength of fresh Ghana champions, Hearts of Oak in the semi finals of the MTN FA Cup after falling 3-0 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday, August 1.
The Mauve and Yellow were looking to enter the finals and probably win and return to the CAF Confederation Cup of which they are two time participants.
A header from Benjamin Afutu, Isaac Mensah’s take from a goalkeeping error and a Daniel Afriyie Barnieh penalty ensured Hearts of Oak under coach Samuel Boadu sank his former side.
Head coach of Medeama, Yaw Preko berates his team for allowing in what he terms “silly” goals against the club he once played and coached.
“We are not happy about our performance like I said earlier, we shot ourselves in the foot, we conceded silly goals.
“It was our own mistakes and I’m yet to watch what what happened again on the screen whether the penalty was a penalty.
“It was a bad day at the office like I said earlier.” Yaw Preko said.
News have spread apace that Medeama have parted ways with Yaw Preko and his assistant, Yaw Acheampong over their dismal performance.
Medeama finished out of the top four last season [2020/21], gathering 54 points in 5th after 34 games.
