Bibiani Gold Stars new coach, Michael Osei has admitted getting in personal touch with three players to strengthen his squad for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season. The young trainer was roped in by the premier league entrants from Division One League side, Star Madrid in a 3-year deal.
The 49-year-old has penciled two former Asante Kotoko central defenders, Agyemang Badu and Evans Owusu who went on to play for Inter Allies and Liberty Professionals respectively. Patrick Akese of Nzema Kotoko, popularly known as “Akese Akese” has been penned down by the ex-Kotoko midfielder.
Having served as assistant coach at Asante Kotoko, Michael Osei is not new to the Ghana Premier League but he surely needs to strengthen his squad of which he admits to.
“I have received several calls from people wanting to bring in players but it won’t be a family and friends affairs.
“Even if your brother or friends introduces a player to you, he needs to have quality to help the team because at the end of the day if things don’t go well, I will be blamed.
“I will be on guard and recruit players hungry for success and not those and for now I can mention Agyemang Badu formerly of Kotoko and Inter Allies, Evans Owusu also played for Liberty Professionals then Akesse Akesse, these are some of the players I have in touch with so far to come and play for the club.” Michael Osei told Wontumi Sports.
Michale Osei has formerly coached relegated Liberty Professionals and New Edubiase United as an assistant coach. He was assistant to Ibrahim Tanko at the Black Meteors.
