The road to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup for the Black Stars of Ghana was given jolt by South Africa in the qualifiers.
The Black Stars suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Bafana Bafana in the second FIFA World Cup qualifier at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg courtesy striker, BongoKuhle Hlongwane 83rd minute strike.

The Black Stars had started the World Cup qualifying campaign with a 1-0 victory over Ethiopia at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Coach Charles Akonnor knows to well his side did not perform well in the second Group G game.

“We didn’t do well in the second half. In the second half we intended to improve.
“We were aware that if we could put the ball through, behind the South Africans, there would be a chance for us.
“We were in control in my opinion, in the first half we had the ball more than the South Africans but they were disciplined and they got the win.” Charles Akonnor said.
The Black Stars have three points, one less than South Africa in first with Ethiopia following in 3rd on three points after beating Zimbabwe 1-0. Zimbabwe are on 4th with one point.
With the current trend and picture of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, can Charles Akonnor stand the heat?
