Head coach of Accra Lions, Andreas Rainer Kraft has hailed their debut fixture of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season against Elmina Sharks.
The newly promoted Ghana Premier side, rallied from a goal down to hold Elmina Sharks to a 1-1 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in their opening fixture on Friday night.

Elmina Sharks shot their noses in in front on the 64th minute through Hearts of Oak loanee, Michel Sarpong. The goal was the first of the season for Sarpong and the first of the opening day Premier League fixture.
Lions however left no stone unturned as they fought back to draw level from the boot of star-man, Rauf Salifu with eight minutes to full time.

Andreas Rainer Kraft describes their opening fixture as “historic.”
“Yes I’m very satisfied especially in the first half, we created five goal chances and you know I had two.
“If we had scored probably the result could have been different.

“Second half was very equal, we made a big mistake so I’m not fine with the result because I always want to win but I’m absolutely fine with our first match in the Ghana Premier League, this is historic.” Rainer Kraft said.
Formed in 2015, the Accra based club were crowned winners of the 2017 Greater Accra Division Two Zone IV.
They earned promotion into Division One three years after its foundation and finally into the Ghana Premier League at the end of the 2020/21 Division One Zone III League season.
