Head coach of Aduana Stars, Asare Bediako says he was well aware of Karela United’s threat before their opening fixture of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League fixture.
The “Ogya” boys nearly pulled a fast one on Karela United after scoring first at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase on match week one on Sunday.
Former Asante Kotoko winger, Emmanuel Gyamfi silenced the home fans with Aduana Stars opening goal before Aziz Dogo pulled parity for Karela to bring the CAM Park back life.
Aduana Stars lost 2-1 in the first round of last season at the CAM Park and Asare Bediako will not want the same feat repeated this term.
“You know I have been here the last time, we scored first and they equalized and they beat us 2-1 at the dying minute.
“So this time when I was coming, I prepared well.
“I told myself that at least I have to take a point home.
“So I strategized well especially my defensive work.
“So I think they [players] played to my instructions.” Asare Bediako said.
Aduana Stars who are twice Ghana Premier League champions from the 2010 and the 2017 seasons, finished 4th last season with 55 points.
The Ogya Boys made history after wining the Ghana Premier League title in its maiden appearance in 2010 with 53 points under the late Ghana coach, Herbert Addo.
They have represented Ghana twice in the CAF Champions League in the years 2011 and 2018.
