Ghana Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac has not ruled out the idea of talking Kamal Sowah into playing for Ghana.
The Club Brugge midfielder is yet to wear the Black Stars jersey since establishing himself into European football briefly with Leicester and mainly with Belgium clubs, OH Leuven on loan and Brugge permanently now.
There have been reports that the 21-year-old is considering switching nationality to play for Belgium with Ghanaians calling for a swift action to lure him for the Black Stars.
His inclusion into the Black Stars will be one to watch in the future alongside Kamaldeen Sulemana, Mohammed Kudus, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and other youngsters.
Milovan Rajevac posits that he has plans to hold talks with Kamal Sowah after clearing the two remaining 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
“He [Kamal Sowah] was trying to establish himself in the past for Leicester City and now with Club Brugge.
“Yesterday [Wednesday] he entered the match against [Manchester] City as a substitute.
“So we are in touch and after these matches [Ethiopia and South Africa] coach’s plan is to go and visit him, talk to him and check his availability for the next matches because he is a wonderful prospect and definitely the player the coach is thinking about seriously for the future.” Milovan Rajevac said.
Kamal Sowah passed through the ranks of high flying Ghana based football academy, Right to Dream before going on trials at Leicester City who snapped him up in 2018 for 4-year deal.
Sowah struggled for game time at Leicester and was sent on loan to Belgium outfit, OH Leuven to gather minutes.
He returned to Leicester City after his loan spell and ahead of the 2021/22 European season, Sowah signed permanently for Belgium Jupiler League side, Club Brugge for an undisclosed fee but reported to be in the region of €9 million.
Sowah has since not looked back and has gone on to make four UEFA Champions League appearances this season despite no goals and assists to his name.
Kamal Sowah made his UEFA Champions League debut in Club Brugge’s 1-1 home draw against Paris St. Germain in their opening game last two months.
