Great Olympics midfielder, James Akaminko is enthused with their second win of the season on Saturday evening.
The “Dade Boys” pinned down Legon Cities FC by 1-0 in week three at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday to go unbeaten in three games of the 2021/22 league season.
Akaminko was the pick of Great Olympics’ midfield after an MVP performance for the two time Ghana champions.
A well laid pass to the far right by the 26-year-old who adjudged best player of the game, saw right back, Philip Sackey send a sweeping low cross for red hot striker, Maxwell Abbey Quaye to poke in the first and the only goal of the match with 22 minutes played.
Maxwell Abbey Quaye has now scored four goals in three games with his first hat-trick coming against Accra Lions before one in week three against Legon Cities.
The victory sends the “Wonder Club” into second on seven points from three games and Akaminko talks about the victory and the performance of the club.
“The game is very good. I think we did well [against Legon Cities FC].
“We came in with a game plan and I think it worked very well for us.
“Because this is the start of the season and we need good points to be in the first four or first two so I think getting seven points out of nine,we are doing well,” Akaminko said.
Akaminko who has previously played for Tema Youth, Medeama SC and AshantiGold, says, he wants to give his best to help Great Olympics attain bigger heights.
“I’m trying day-in day-out to help the team, to help myself so nothing but the best.” James Akaminko added.
Akaminko joined Great Olympics for the 2020/21 league season after a failed sojourn in Tunisia with US Tataouine.
Great Olympics drew 1-1 against Real Tamale United in their opening season. An improved performance in the second week saw Maxwell Abbey bag a hat trick in a 3-1 win over city neighbors, Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Great Olympics will journey to the Dawu Park for their week four clash against Dreams FC who have had their venue approved by the Ghana FA’s Club Licensing Authority.
