Head coach of Karela United, Bismark Kobby Mensah has slammed his reserve players for letting the team down in their games.
The Anyinase based club have made a decent start to the three week old 2021/22 league season with two draws and a win.
Karela were held at home to a 1-1 draw by two time Ghana champions, Aduana Stars in week one at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.
They picked a point via a 1-1 draw against AshantiGold at the Len Clay Stadium in week two before beating Berekum Chelsea 2-1 at home in the third week.
The result puts them on a decent five points out of a possible nine in three opening games.
Bismark Kobby Mensah is however not happy with players who are putting up a lackadaisical attitude in games.
“We have a very good bench but anytime they come on they don’t affect the game positively.
“Against AshantiGold the same, against [Aduana Stars] our first game the same.
“So it’s something that I need to look at.
“The reason is that, when somebody is able to play 70 minutes, and it’s your duty also as a player when you are putting on 20 minutes to fight for the team.
“So for me it didn’t work but it’s not my fault.
“When somebody is tired and you have a good player at the bench, basically a coach has to bring him in.
“So that was the idea. Every players is good and we have a very good squad.
“So I think that those who are coming in are the players who are disappointing me.
“They should come and affect the game positively and not to degrade the team and that is what I think is happening.
“And this is not the first time, this is not the second time. It started in the pre-season.
“It’s something that we the technical team has to sit down and fish out the reasons.” Bismark Kobby Mensah said.
Karela United will be the guests of Medeama SC at the Akoon Park in week four.
