Head coach of Aduana Stars, Joseph Asare Bediako has made a subtle attack on Hearts of Oak’s style of “possessive football”.
Asare Bediako, who was once an assistant at the millennium champions, led Aduana to pick a point in a 1-1 draw against his former side at the Accra Sports Stadium in week three.
Kofi Kordzi’s 10th minute strike for Hearts was canceled on the 78th minute from a Bright Agyei penalty to continue the Phobians winless streak in three opening matches.
Hearts of Oak enjoyed a lion share of possession especially in the first half but the “Ogya Boys” returned for the second session much energized.
Asare Bediako says the defending champions could not trouble his side with their style of possession.
“You see I can’t say too much about the team but you see, they were dominating at the first half, they were possessing and I saw that their possession was in their own half.
“That one it won’t help the club, it won’t help the team.
“No progression, if there is a lot of transition then it will be good for the team.
“At least I saw a lot of the possession was in their half so it wasn’t a problem to our team.
“They were possessing especially in the first half but when we changed our system, it swung to our favor.
“So we were doing well in the second half.
“I remember last season when we came here with [Great] Olympics, it happened the same thing.
“First two nil, when we came back we changed the system, we played 4-3-3 so we won.
“I think they were lucky we were supposed to have won this match but we are very happy to have earned a point.” Asare Bediako said.
Aduana Stars are yet to win in three matches after drawing 1-1 at Karela United, losing 3-1 at home to in-form King Faisal and holding Hearts to a 1-1 draw.
Their next game is a week four clash against Real Tamale United at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
