Head coach of Berekum Chelsea, Moses Cofie has said that his side did not give King Faisal much room to operate.
The “Bibires” halted the winning streak of the “Insha Allah” Boys at the Golden City Park on Friday in their week four clash of the 2021/22 league season.
Berekum Chelsea came into the home game on the backdrop of just a draw and two defeats from three opening games with King Faisal recording three straight wins.
Berekum Chelsea fell 1-0 away to new boys, Gold Stars at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani in week one before managing a goalless draw at home to Eleven Wonders in the second week.
A journey to Karela was not fruitful following a 2-0 loss at the Crosby Awuah Memorial in week three and their first three points of the season against King Faisal will be a huge sigh of relief to the club’s following.
Moses Cofie, who was appointed to handle the 2010 Ghana champions until the end of the 2021/22 season, spoke after the victory.
“I think from the beginning I told you that I just took the team in two days.
“And by the way how I controlled them, the way we organized the team.
“You know we played with a team that are well organized and so I had to talk to them that we don’t have to give them the chance to play.
“And you could see it happened. Whatever we did at training also happened in the game and you could see by the end of the day we carried the day.
“The chances came, that is why we will go back and work on it because you know it is my early days with the team so there are so many things that I have to work on.
“And then by the grace of God if everything goes on well we will come up.” Moses Coffie told Max TV.
The win gives Berekum Chelsea four points, pushing them to 7th on the league table and will now focus on their week five clash against Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.
