Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum has been left awed by the brilliance of youngster, Isaac Oppong.
The 18-year-old has been involved in six goals, scoring three and assisting three in the Porcupine Warriors’ four opening games of the 2021/22 league season.
Oppong scored his third goal of the season after a brilliant finish in Kotoko’s 2-0 home win against Eleven Wonders on Saturday.
Brazilian import, Fabio Gama started the onslaught by setting up Oppong who will go past his marker in an intelligent fashion on the left side of the field to slot the second goal into Eleven Wonders goalkeeper’s roof.
Prosper Narteh Ogum said of the young player who was signed from Sunyani based second Division club, Bactero Sasana.
“I think he is a fantastic player, he is talented and he work very hard too.
“So he is a blend of talent, hardwork and his ability to listen to tactical instructions on the field of play.
“Whatever you tell him to do, he does it well and he is able to add up to what you tell him to do.
“So I think this young guy is going to go far if he is able to keep his focus, keep his calm and keep his confidence.” Prosper Narteh Ogum said.
Asante Kotoko got their first goal from Samuel Boateng who smashed from outside the box after Salifu Mudasiru’s assist on the 28th minute.
Asante Kotoko now have a 100 percent record from four games and will next travel to play Karel United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase.
