Ex-Asante Kotoko captain, James Kwesi Appiah has urged the club’s current star to remain focused in the ongoing season.
The Porcupine Warriors have had a 100 percent start to the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
Kotoko have won four games in a row and currently top the league table under the watchful eyes of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Speaking to Akoma FM at the launch of the club’s partnership deal with the National Lottery Authority (NLA) at Golden Tulip in Kumasi on Monday, the former Ghana Black Stars coach said he is impressed with the performance of his former side.
He also urged the players to stay focused to continue their good run of form.
“For now, they’re doing very well,” the former left-back said.

“But they should not be swollen-headed. They need to concentrate and make sure they take it game after game and should never think we’ve won four games, so that’s the end of it.
“Once complacency sets in, then it will be a problem for the team. And they also know that each team they face will be coming out in full force because now they’re leading the league table, and automatically all the teams will be eyeing them, giving them tough games.
“So the most important thing is to be focused and play according to the tactical instructions of the coach.” Opoku Nti said.

Asante Kotoko started the season on a very good note after coming from a goal down to beat Dreams FC 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The went ahead to record a 2-0 win over Bechem United at the Baba Yara Stadium in week two.

The winning run continued after traveling to Bibiani to pip new premier league boys, Gold Stars by 1-0 before recording a 2-0 home win over Eleven Wonders in week four at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The Porcupine Warriors will turn attention to the week five game against Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in Anyinase.
