Karela United midfielder, Umar Bashiru has said that they will treat their week five clash against Kotoko as any other league game.
Karela will host the league leaders on Sunday at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in the fifth week of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League encounter.
The Anyinase based club who have collected five points from four opening games, will test the mettle of Kotoko who are on a four game winning streak.
Bashiru, who had a patchy spell at the Porcupine Warriors under former Black Stars coach, Charles Akonnor, says, the Kotoko duel is just like any other league game.
“We are not taking this match as too much special.
“We are taking this match as a normal match, as any match that we have played so far.
“And I think we are preparing and we are ready for them.” Umar Bashiru told press men after Thursday’s training.
Bashiru, 24 , previously featured for West Africa Football Academy and has been key for Karela this term – making all four appearances with a goal to his credit.
Karela produced a 1-1 score line at home to Aduana Stars and away to AshantiGold in weeks one and two before squeezing their first three points in a 2-1 victory at home to former champions, Berekum Chelsea in the third week.
Newly appointed Medeama coach, Umar Abdul Rabi however stopped Karela in their track after pinning them down to a 2-0 defeat in week four at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa.
Karela will need to win at home to Kotoko to keep the chase at the summit of the league table as clubs continue in their quest to build points in week five.
