Head coach of West Africa Football Academy, Guillermo Zaragoza has abstained from speaking much about a referee’s decision that earned them a penalty against Great Olympics in week five.
Match day referee, Bahsiru Dauda controversially pointed to the spot after Great Olympics right-back, Philip Sackey was adjudged to have brought down Marvin Owusu in the dying embers of the game at the Sogakope Park.
WAFA scored the only goal from the boot of striker, Justus Torsutsey, who made no mistake in converting the penalty on the 95th minute.

The win is WAFA’s first in five games this season but head coach, Zaragoza believes penalties are just part of football and they deserved the three points.
“I thought we deserved to win to be honest, I know we got a penalty in the end but you know we controlled the ball in the entire game.
“We were playing well, we were moving and we were licking in the end to get a penalty.
“Regardless of the penalty we could have won the match, we deserved to win.
“I don’t care what people are saying, we deserved to win today,” Guillermo Zaragoza said.

The Spaniard remained evasive when asked about the referees decision to award them a late penalty.
“I’m not going to speak about because sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it goes against you it’s part of football.
“I thought there was contact, you can discuss all you want but the bottom line is that, we had the ball, we created chances, we wanted to be the protagonists and you know, we got a win.” He added.

WAFA lost their opener 1-0 to King Faisal at the Baba Yara Stadium but managed to pull a point at home in a 1-1 draw against defending champions, Hearts of Oak in the second week.
Their journey to the Aliu Mahama Stadium in week three ended in a 2-0 defeat to Real Tamale United before a 2-2 draw to Legon Cities FC in the fourth week at the Sogakope Park
They will meet yet another tough side in two time Ghana Premier League holders, Aduana Stars in the sixth week in December at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.
