Veteran Ghanaian coach, Bashir Hayford does not see Asante Kotoko losing their grip at the summit of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League table anytime soon.
Kotoko have cut their path into the top of the league log with breathtaking displays in the opening games.
As last season’s runners-up to rivals Hearts of Oak, the Porcupine Warriors’ bid to win this term’s title for the first time in seven seasons has started well with four opening victories and a draw.

They have scored eight goals and conceded just once leading up to raking an impressive 13 points in five games.
Hayford believes the club he once coached has a firm hold at the top of table despite being too early to predict the outcome of the season.
“I can’t predict the league for Kotoko now but looking at where they are,it will be difficult for others to overtake them on the league table.

“I don’t think Kotoko will lose continuously for other teams whiles they’re on the top of the league table.” Bashir Hayford told West fm.
The two time African champions earned all three points in victories against Dreams FC, Bechem United, Gold Stars, Eleven Wonders in weeks one to four before managing a goalless draw at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park against Karela United in week five.

A come back from a goal down to beat Dreams FC 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium began a good journey to the top of the table.
The record Ghana Premier League holders proceeded with 2-0 wins over Bechem United and Eleven Wonders in weeks two and four at the Baba Yara Stadium with a 1-0 scorel line over Gold Stars in between the two at the Dun’s Park in Bibiani.

The aim for five straight wins was cut off by Karela United in the fifth week and Kotoko will be in for yet another tougher test as they face city rivals, King Faisal in week six at the Baba Yara Stadium this weekend.
King Faisal are three points behind Kotoko and a win takes them at par with their rivals. Kotoko are bent on strengthening their points lead at the top and will not want to falter either.
