Asante Kotoko will have a tough customer to deal with in Real Tamale United in week eight of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.

The Porcupine Warriors host the premier league returnees at the Baba Yara Stadium in a crunchy encounter on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.

Kotoko v King Faisal

Asante Kotoko’s only 3-2 defeat has come against city rivals, King Faisal in match week six at the Baba Yara Stadium and a goalless draw at the Anyinase to Karela United in week five.

Apart from the jerky results above, the record Ghana premier league holders have landed four opening wins.

The beginning of the season was an eventful one which saw them come from a goal down to beat Dreams FC 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Kotoko v Bechem United action

The result buoyed the two time African champions’ return to the Baba Yara Stadium for their week two game against Bechem United of which they won 2-0.

A journey to Bibiani as guests of new boys, Gold Stars brought smiles to the teeming fans after posting a solitary 1-0 victory at the Duns Park in week three.

The fourth week equally continued the weeks of jollity with a 2-0 win over Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Stadium Stadium.

They will draw in week five at Karela, pegged back in week six by King Faisal but will have to skip the seventh week against bitter rivals, Hearts of Oak due to the latter’s involvement in the CAF Confederation Cup against JS Saoura.

The week eight clash against RTU will certainly prove another tough test for coach Prosper Narteh Ogum. A defeat will send heatwaves in the Porcupine Warriors as the title chase will begin to slip.
