Ghana Premier League new boys, Accra Lions made a quick recovery from two straight defeats in all competitions to claim their third win of the season last Sunday.
Accra Lions defeated returnees, Real Tamale United 2-1 at their temporarily adopted Sogakope Park in week 10 of the 2021/22 league season.
Prior to posting that respectable score line, they had suffered 2-0 in week nine against defending champions, Hearts of Oak at the Cape Coast Stadium before losing 1-0 to the same side in the MTN FA Cup round 64 at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman.

Having had mixed results into the season, the win over RTU is certainly a morale urge ahead of subsequent games and coach James Nicholas Francis believes all the players need is confidence and belief to play under pressure.
“Not so much of improvement maybe the confidence and the belief to carry on playing under pressure.
“The players were under a lot of pressure in the first half, they got their goal.

“They’ve got to believe in themselves that they can carry on through the full 90 minutes instead of the 45 [minutes].
“It’s difficult to say because we are trying to get them to play a style of football we play from the back so there is pressure there already.
“So mistakes will happen, it’s about the learning process and how they develop further.” James Nicholas Francis told StarTimes.

Accra Lions record wins against Bechem United, Eleven Wonders and RTU which came via 2-1, 1-0 and 2-1 score lines in weeks four, six and 10.
They have drawn two games and lost five times in a lead up to amassing 11 points in 12th position on the league table.
Next stop for coach James Nicholas Francis will be an way clash against Legon Cities FC in week 11 on Monday, January 3.
