Football and education are bedfellows and one of the clubs which readily comes into mind when discussing the two is record English Premier League champions, Manchester United.
The Red Devils have a partnership with Ashton-on-Mersey school, which the club’s young players have attended since 1998 alongside chasing their football dreams.
That partnership has inculcated quality education into Darren Fletcher, Jonny Evans, Paul Pogba, Giuseppe Rossi, Gerard Pique and recently, Marcus Rashford at the state-run school located close to United’s Carrington training ground.

The 16-year-old right back-cum right winger will enroll in a Senior High School after a successful completion of the Junior High in 2021.
He has not just been phenomenal for the Hunters but his performance has earned him accolades – winning the MVP in their week 11 goalless draw against defending champions, Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The youngster has had to skip games to write his final JHS exams this year and was asked whether combining the classroom and the field won’t affect his football dreams.
“I can manage because I will attend the SHS in my hometown.
“So after school, I can train with the team,” Clinton Duoudu told Africa-foot.com’s Adamu Muftawu.

His head coach at club side, Kasim Mingle does not have doubts about Duodu’s quest to combine football and High School education.
Bechem United will be lucky to have the youngster train with them and play especially home games as they train on the pitch where Clinton Duodu’s school is located.

Kasim Mingle said: “We are guiding him to further his education and play football at the same time,” Kasim Mingle said.
“The school that he will be attending is in Bechem and we train at the school field so it’s not a problem.” Kasim Mingle added.

Bechem United have churned our impressive results this season – recording five wins, three draws and three defeats.
They have 18 points seated fourth on the table and will next host premier league returnees, Real Tamale United in week 12 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
