The Black Stars of Ghana will open their 2021 AFCON campaign against North Africans, Morocco today at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium.
Ghana are chasing a first title for the first time since winning it in 1982 in Libya.
The 40-year jinx will face a stiff test when they play the one time winners whose head coach, Vahid Halilhodzic admits will be a tough exercise.

“Ghana is a team with a great history in African football. They have won the cup four times, the match against the Black Stars will certainly be difficult.” Halilhodzic said at a pre-match briefing.

“It is true that our history is not as rich as other teams, but this generation is motivated and determined to achieve a historic feat during this Africa Cup of Nations,” he added.
The Moroccans have won the AFCON just once and that was in 1976 and will look frustrate the four time champions in group C opener at 4:00 Ghana time.
