Hearts of Oak goalkeeper, Richmond Ayi has been reacting to his recent fine form for the Phobians in the 2021/22 season.

Ayi, 25, is the club’s second choice goalkeeper but has since deputized well for number one, Richard Attah who is at the 2021 AFCON with the senior national team, the Black Stars. The former West Africa Football Academy shot stopper has been phenomenal for the 2000 CAF Champions League winners – guiding them into the last 32 of the MTN FA Cup. He has had good games in double victories against Accra Lions in the league the MTN FA Cup round 64 where he kept clean sheets.

The former Ghana U-23 gloves man posted a fine form against Bechem United, Gold Stars, Medeama and the 4-1 win over Eleven Wonders in week 13 in Accra on Sunday. Richmond Ayi said: “It’s hardwork because you have to prepare for opportunity, you shouldn’t wait for the opportunity to come before you prepare,” Richmond Ayi told StarTimes. “You always prepare, when the opportunity comes, you grab it well. “First of all, let me give credit to our goalkeepers’s coach, he has been phenomenal. “He’s always kept me on my toes so I have to give the credit to him.” Richmond Ayi added.

Hearts of Oak have gathered 20 points from 12 matches with a week seven outstanding against arch rivals, Asante Kotoko set to be played next month. They sit 6th on the table with their next game against Karela United at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park in week 14.
