Medeama SC striker, Ahmed Toure has admitted that Asante Kotoko were better in their week 14 clash of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League.
The Mauve and Yellow could have suffered a humiliating defeat but for the timely saves by goalkeeper Boris Junior. That notwithstanding, the two time FA Cup winners succumbed to the incessant Kotoko pressure and eventually lost 1-0 courtesy Cameroon striker, Georges Mfegue’s late strike. Ahmed Toure in a post match interview with StarTimes said: “I think it was a very good game, playing against Kotoko is not easy.
“I told them they should calm down and play football because when you are playing at Baba Yara [Stadium], you have to keep the ball and play your football but definitely Kotoko scored [1-0], it’s not bad, it’s part of the game, the better side won.” Ahmed Toure told StarTimes.
The defeat is Medeama’s first in five matches and that leaves them in 5th with 23 points from 14 games. They have won six games, drawn five times and lost three this season with their next opponent being bottom side, Elmina Sharks at the Akoon Park on Sunday, January 30.
