Head coach of Dreams FC, Karim Zito has said that, it behoves his strikers to learn the art of scoring goals.
The “Still Believe” Boys wasted several first half goal opportunities with Ali Huzaif the biggest culprit to nail Asante Kotoko in their week 18 clash of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The game ended 2-0 in favour of Kotoko with Cameroon striker, Franck Etouga Mbella scoring twice to send Kotoko on 40 points atop of the table – ten points off Bechem United and Aduana Stars in second in second.
The chances fluffed by Dreams FC has elicited reactions about his strikers’ wastefulness in front of goal.
“That is why I always say it is injustice to judge coaches by results. “If they [team] didn’t perform well, it’s my problem but putting the ball into the net as I said, is the player, it’s not me.” Karim Zito told StarTimes.
“They should have stayed focused because just a minor mistake and Kotoko capitalized on it and they made it their own.
“So you see we lost not out of the game but we lost due to lack of focus from my boys.” Karim Zito added.
Dreams FC are 10th on the league table with 23 points from 18 games and will next host bottom place Elmina Sharks.
