Dreams FC fluffed several opportunities in the first half to stun Kotoko in their second round clash of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
The “Still Believe” Boys could not go by their slogan, falling to a brace by Cameroon striker, Franck Etouga.
Etouga, now top scorer with 13 goals from 14 appearances, got the first goal from the penalty spot with the second strike against the run of play.
Karim Zito is head coach of Dreams FC:“Seriously I’m disappointed in my players, we strategized well, we stopped Kotoko from playing, we created a lot of chances and we should have beaten Kotoko from the first half about three or four goals.
“And then we came in the second half and we had the opportunity to score again and we squandered it,” Karim Zito told StarTimes.
“We coaches basically teach them [players] how to score but putting the ball into the net is the ability and the capability of the player.
“He [player] is on the show, so we have to blame ourselves because we did everything possible to win this match and we had the opportunity but we could not take it.
The defeat is the second against Kotoko after their first round meeting ended 3-1 in Accra and that leaves Dreams FC in 10th position with 23 points from 18 matches of the season.
They next host bottom place Elmina Sharks at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu for match week 19.
