Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum says fatigue is setting into his squad with just 18 games into the 2021/22 league season.
The record Ghana Premier League holders [24 titles] stretched their lead on top of the league table to 10 points after beating Dreams FC 2-0 in week 18 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday.
They have 40 points with Bechem United and Aduana Stars sharing 30 apiece in second place.
Kotoko Coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum admitted to fatigue on his squad underpinned by a run of good form.
“I think fatigue is setting in and as I said earlier, we didn’t have some days off. “It’s been training, training, playing matches so it’s fatigue.
“But then all over the world, good teams are able to win even on a very bad day, on a very difficult day.
“So I think it’s good for the team even though we didn’t play as expected. “A few chances that we got, we were able to create goals out of it and I’m happy because the aim of the game is to score and get the three points.
“Sometimes it’s not about how beautifully you play but it’s about how you get the points and I think that was what we were able to do today, we were able to get the points.
“I’m thinking of how to structure the training programme to give them some rest so that they can recover fully and get back on track.” Prosper Narteh Ogum told StarTimes.
Prosper Narteh will lead his side to the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park against Bechem United for the week fixture.
