Asante Kotoko midfielder, Richard Boadu has set a target of helping the club clinch the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League title.
The former Medeama man has been playing a part in coach Prosper Narteh Ogum’s set up which currently lead the league table with 41 points – eight ahead of second place and two time champions, Aduana FC.
Boadu was in action when the record Ghana Premier League holders were held to a goalless draw by Bechem United at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in week 19 on Tuesday.
The points gap has sort of cushioned the Porcupine Warriors bid to winning their first title in eight seasons of which Boadu will relish to grab.
“Our coach will tell us [that] every game we play is a big game but we are bigger than the game.
“And it [against Bechem United] was a tough match but since we didn’t concede I think it’s a good thing for us,” Richard Boadu said at the post match press conference.
“[my personal aim is] to help the team to get the trophy, that’s all.” He added.
Asante Kotoko will welcome Premier League debutants, Bibiani Gold Stars for week 20 on March 12 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
