Rui Gregorio: Berekum Chelsea coach targets nine match winning streak

Head coach of Berekum Chelsea, Rui Gregorio has set a target of going nine matches without a loss in the 2021/22 season.

The Portuguese led his side to pick an important away point in week 19 against strugglers, Eleven Wonders at the Ohene Ameyaw Park on Monday.

Forward, Osei Owusu took advantage of Eleven Wonders’ sloppy defending to lob home Chelsea’s opener with just two minutes played.

Moro Sumaila was on hand to pull level for Wonders after the visitors failed to properly clear a floated corner kick on the 44th minute.

Gregorio said: “We started very well, second minute we scored as I told you before. “We came here to win, to get three points but we are playing a good team, everyone sees it’s a good team.

“They pressed us last twenty minutes of the first half. “Even if we are telling the players and our defence to come out to push up, it was not easy to come up and it’s ok, it can happen.

“Second half they didn’t have probably one chance, we had two or three chances.

“We are in a good moment so players need to be confident all the time, motivation needs to be there because we are not losing for I don’t know maybe eight or nine matches, we are not losing.” Rui Gregorio told StarTimes.

Berekum Chelsea look safe in 9th spot with 26 points from 19 matches, same as defending champions, Hearts of Oak who will clear their week 19 game against WAFA on Wednesday in Accra.
