Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen has been in red hot form for club, Napoli in the 2021/22 Italian Serie A season.
The 23-year-old lanky forward has scored 11 goals in 20 league appearances despite missing 10 games due to face injury which forced him to miss the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon.
He scored a double brace in one week – first in Napoli’s 2-1 win last week at Verona and the 2-1 comeback victory over Udinese at home on Saturday.
His latest brace makes him the first Nigerian to score ten goals or more in different seasons in the Italian Serie A.
Napoli manager, Luciano Spalletti says the Super Eagles striker has not got enough praise for his blistering form.
“He is a footballer who manages to go beyond his limit,” a delighted Spalletti told the press after the encounter.
“When you think he is at his maximum potential, he manages to give an extra boost. He is a strong footballer, but you don’t push him too far. We don’t pay him enough compliments.”
Osimhen, 23, has five UEFA EUROPA League game under his belt and has registered four goals without assists.
The 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup winner is part of Super Eagles 25-man squad to face Ghana in the first leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium Stadium on March 25.
The reverse fixture will be played at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja on March 29 with the winner over the two ties qualifying for the finals in Qatar later this year.
